Who Sees Your Information
Service Providers
When you request service, providers can see your name, address, and any special instructions you provide. They need this to do the job.
We Do NOT
- Sell your personal information
- Share your data with advertisers
- Give your information to third parties except as needed to provide the service
How We Protect It
- Secure, encrypted connections
- Password-protected accounts
- Limited employee access to data
SMS/Text Messaging
When you provide your mobile phone number and consent to receive SMS notifications during registration or in your account settings, you agree to receive text messages from Chori. These messages may include:
- Service request notifications — Alerts when a customer requests your services (for providers) or when a provider responds to your request (for customers)
- Status updates — Notifications when a provider accepts, is en route, or completes a job, or when payment is processed
- Account verification — Security codes for login verification
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform. Active users typically receive 2–10 messages per week during peak seasons.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Chori does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may.
Opting Out
You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message from Chori
- Disabling SMS notifications in your profile settings within the app
- Contacting us at CheboyganPlow@gmail.com
After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message. You may opt back in at any time by enabling SMS notifications in your profile settings.

No Third-Party Sharing
We do not share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number is only used to facilitate communications between you and other Chori users (customers and providers) and for account security.
Your Choices
You can:
- Update your information anytime in the app
- Delete your account from the app settings
- Opt out of non-essential notifications
Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days (except where we're legally required to keep it).
